In this video, you’ll explore one of the most remote parts of Grand Cayman Island to meet a lizard that was brought back from the brink of extinction.
The Blue Iguana is one of the most beautiful and rarest iguanas on the planet.
At one point, there were only 15 individuals left in the wild, making them functionally extinct. Now there are over 1000.
That miracle is due to the restoration work of Fred Burton, who created the Blue Iguana Recovery Programme (now called Blue Iguana Conservation) 15 years ago.
