VIDEO — Beer-Oriented Redevelopment: Discover the dramatic 3-year revitalization of downtown Cary, North Carolina

It’s been three years since the four owners of Bond Brothers Beer Company took a chance and opened their business in downtown Cary.

I’m not sure that a lot of people thought of downtown Cary a couple years ago as a place you can go,” said White Baker, co-owner of the brewery.

Three years since opening, things have changed. “We’ve grown since we’ve opened — almost like 300% in three years,” he said.

Baker credits the growth to a vibrant downtown. “Recently with all the influx of businesses, restaurants, as well as our brewery, more and more people are going to downtown Cary to hang out pretty much all day,” explained Baker.

Ted Boyd, Director of Economic Development for the Town of Cary, said the growth is intentional. It’s a part of a larger plan that includes a regional library, a larger park and more retail space.
