VIDEO: In Ukraine, crowdfunding successfully helps restore the Danube River delta by removing 10 nature-killing dams

In 2019, 10 dams and obstacles were removed on the Kogilnik, Kagach and Sarata Rivers on the territory of the Danube Biosphere Reserve (DBR) in Ukraine.

Though 2020 was a very dry year, the removal of the dams has revitalized the rivers, restoring natural processes, supporting the comeback of wild nature, and will hopefully underpin the development of local nature-based economies.
