VIDEO: Indianapolis to revitalize downtown with $175 million City Market mixed-use redevelopment, creating 60 new residences

Few factors are more dependable for revitalizing a downtown than increasing downtown residents (as documented in RECONOMICS: The Path To Resilient Prosperity).

So, on June 15, 2022, Indianapolis, Indiana Mayor Joe Hogsett and the city’s Department of Metropolitan Development announced a redevelopment plan for the downtown City Market campus.

The city will partner with Gershman Partners and Citimark to redesign the east wing of City Market.

It’s a $175 million proposal to transform the campus into a mixed-use facility.
