China View reporters visited a woman in north China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
She and her husband have dedicated themselves to planting trees and fighting desertification for nearly three decades.
They have restored 1600 hectares (4000 acres) of forest with over 600,000 trees in that time. Most residents of the area have no idea how desolate the area once looked.
