VIDEO — One man’s experience with no-till farming: a key to regenerative agriculture

Regenerative agriculture was first documented in a chapter of the 2002 book, The Restoration Economy, by Storm Cunningham. This fast-growing global trend comprises farming and ranching techniques that restore the quality and quantity of topsoil, while simultaneously restoring local biodiversity (especially native pollinators) and the watershed.

Climate restoration is also one of the goals, since regenerative agriculture can sequester more carbon per acre than reforestation.

One of the key elements of regenerative agriculture is no-till farming. In this 5-minute video, Jimmy Emmons talks about transitioning his farm near Leedey, Oklahoma, to a diverse operation that includes no-till practices, cover crops and rotational grazing.
