VIDEO: Using indigenous knowledge to create a climate-resilient future for California’s post-fire Big Basin Redwoods Park

In California, many Santa Cruz Mountain residents suffered unimaginable losses in the CZU Lightning Complex Fire in August of 2020.

So did the did the towering trees and wildlife of Big Basin Redwoods State Park, which was devastated, largely as a result of decades of ecological mismanagement.

Now, as the park naturally regenerates, a renewal program is underway to reimagine the park, using indigenous knowledge to create a revitalized, climate-resilient future.
