Video: Restore an engineered-to-death river to celebrate World Fish Migration Day

This beautiful, 99-second video reminds us that humans depend on fish, and fish depend on travel.

But we have blocked that travel on most rivers worldwide via hundreds of thousands of dams, many of which no longer serve any useful purpose (if they ever did: thousands of unnecessary American dams were built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers simply because they had an annual dam-building budget that had to be used).

In recent decades, a dam removal trend has grown, as people started coming back to their senses.

In dozens of rivers across the U.S., fish are migrating, often for the first time in over a century.

Welcome to the global Restoration Economy.
