In northern Saskatchewan, Canada Louie Mercredi is a Fond du Lac band member whose company has built and maintained an ice road for the Saskatchewan Research Council‘s Gunnar Mine and Mill Site Remediation project in a remote area.
Louie’s work is essential for the transport of fuel and equipment during the winter so that major remediation work can begin on the Gunnar tailings areas in the spring of 2017.
