VIDEO: This affordable housing / mixed-use project will finally reconnect and revitalize a low-income neighborhood in Virginia

The long-suffering Marshall-Ridley neighborhood of Newport News, Virginia finally broke ground on a long-awaited redevelopment project that they hope will revitalize the neighborhood by adding both affordable housing and mixed-use redevelopment.

It’s been almost two years since the Marshall-Ridley Choice Neighborhood received a $30 million grant for revitalization.

The project also corrects previous bad planning to reconnect it to the city.
