Volunteer and beer-driven revitalization happening in downtown Ottawa, Illinois

Downtown Ottawa, Illinois continues to be revitalized by new and coming businesses, as well as the beautification carried out by volunteers, Mayor Robert Eschbach said in his annual state of the city presentation.

In addition to citing a number of new and upcoming business opening, Eschbach said one “remarkable project” now underway is the complete rehab of a historic commercial building on La Salle Street by Peter Limberger and Inga Carus into a state-of-the-art upscale brewpub.

The Lone Buffalo, when it opens later this year, is sure to be a major regional draw for the downtown,” he said. “With the recent opening of Radium City, another local craft brewery, it is clear that Ottawa is positioning itself to be a downstate craft beer brewing center,” he continued.
