The global restoration economy continues to offer up an ever-increasing number of opportunities to restore and revitalize places for a living. As I have been saying in my workshops and books for many years, “what we restore, restores us” and “the places we revitalize, revitalize us.”
Now, on October 20, 2021, the Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA) announced it is accepting proposals for the FY 2022 Conservation and Restoration Partnership Fund, which has dedicated up to $1 million in matching funds for projects addressing coastal conservation and restoration needs.
The funding will allow CPRA to explore public-private partnership opportunities such as grants and donations to support the implementation of high priority projects to advance coastal restoration goals.
Proposals should be no more than two pages in length, including the one-page project map
Proposals should include a brief description of the project purpose, features, and conceptual design, as well as a map of the project area and a summary of how it meets these selection criteria.
Projects will be evaluated and prioritized based on the following criteria:
- Consistency with the objectives of the 2017 State Master Plan;
- Acreage conserved/restored;
- Synergy with other conservation and restoration efforts;
- Project constructability; and
- Matching funds
A selection committee composed of CPRA scientists and engineers will review and evaluate each proposed project based on the listed criteria.
Projects selected for funding will be notified by January 1, 2022.
