New Kensington Community Development Corporation (NKCDC) currently has three Americorp VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) positions available starting August 20, 2018 in its Philadelphia, Pennsylvania office.
Compensation is paid directly to VISTAs in the form of a living allowance ($510 bi weekly) from AmeriCorps* VISTA. At the end of the term of service, an education award or cash stipend will be provided.
NKCDC strengthens the physical, social and economic fabric of Kensington, Fishtown and Port Richmond, Philadelphia, by being a catalyst for sustainable development and community building. We believe in a multi-faceted approach to neighborhood revitalization, working with housing counseling, real estate development, vacant land management, community engagement and neighborhood planning as well as economic development.
The three positions related to “Economic Development Department: Pathways to Entrepreneurship”, “Community Engagement Department: Healthy Housing” and “Community Engagement Department: Resilience and Equity.”
