Incubated by the Housing Partnership Network (HPN), Develop Detroit is structured and capitalized as an independent nonprofit that builds on the experience and performance of the most accomplished developers in the nation. The firm specializes in affordable housing, mixed income and mixed-use developments as well as community facilities that will help stabilize and transform neighborhoods.
The Community Development Director will lead the planning and execution of our community development activities in collaboration with stakeholders in Develop Detroit’s targeted “zones of opportunity.”
The Community Development Director will prepare assessments and inventories of existing community conditions and resources potentially useful for community revitalization and related projects in cooperation with community-based groups, local businesses, individual residents, appropriate city departments and other nonprofit organizations working in the community.
This position requires a genuine commitment to the mission of building and preserving quality housing and transforming communities, and ability to partner effectively internally and with a range of key stakeholders. Additionally, Develop Detroit is a start-up environment, so strong candidates will have demonstrated ability to operate in very fluid, fast-moving and lean organizations.
