WANTED: Coordinator for national program to create restorative communities (WA)

The International Living Future Institute (ILFI) seeks a Living Community Challenge Coordinator to join our staff. This position will be responsible for coordinating the day to day operations of the Living Community Challenge, the world’s most advanced standard for the creation and evolution of new and existing restorative communities.

The Institute aims to reimagine and evolve cities and communities to be an ideal human habitat – a place where people can be restored by nature and a sense of equitable commons – as well as self sufficient in energy and water, all while supporting health by eliminating toxins and human powered transportation.

The successful applicant must be a multitasking self-starter, with a passion for the ILFI mission, strong knowledge of urban design and development process, and excellent interpersonal and project management skills.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated urban design, architecture, ecological design or community planning/engagement experience, and should have a passion for taking the Living Building framework to the city and community scale.

The job is full time and will be filled in Seattle, with the potential for travel within the Pacific Northwest. ILFI has additional offices in Portland, OR and Pittsburgh, PA, as well as additional staff in Chicago, IL and Boston, MA.

Compensation is commensurate with experience and is supplemented by the Institute’s generous benefits package, which includes health and dental insurance, three weeks of paid annual leave, 12 days annual sick leave, and retirement plan with employer matching.

Apply by January 4, 2018.
