WANTED: County Revitalization Program Manager (Virginia)

The Fairfax County (Virginia) government seeks a Revitalization Program Manager, who will serve as a member of a team responsible for the county’s commercial revitalization and reinvestment initiatives.

Facilitates, promotes, and coordinates revitalization projects, programs and initiatives in assigned areas.

Assists the community in developing and implementing visions for their areas, and participates in the review of zoning and site plan applications, special studies, Comprehensive Plan amendments, capital improvement projects and public-private partnerships.

Responsibilities may include preparation of urban design guidelines, development of conceptual plans, critical review of urban design component of land use submissions, fostering economic development, identification of targets of opportunity for redevelopment and reinvestment, community engagement and other aspects of planning, and revitalization and redevelopment projects.

Assists in the general administration of the revitalization program. Works closely with area revitalization groups, land owners, developers, and public officials. Coordinates closely with other county departments.

Represents the office with the public, before the Board of Supervisors, and with federal, state and local agencies.
