JOB: Cultural Resilience Program Director for affordable housing non-profit (CA)

Enterprise Community Partners seeks a full-time Cultural Resilience Program Director for its office in San Francisco, California. Enterprise’s mission is to create opportunity for low- and moderate-income people through affordable housing in diverse, thriving communities.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced creative practitioner with cross-disciplinary expertise in placemaking, social determinants of health, community development, cultural anthropology, participatory research or community-engaged design.

Enterprise is a national organization with offices throughout the country. The Northern California team covers a range of the most relevant and pressing issues facing the affordable housing industry today -including sustainable and equitable communities, and public housing revitalization. This new position will share responsibility for Enterprise’s role in the Partnership for HOPE SF, a collaboration with The San Francisco Foundation and City of San Francisco to create the enabling conditions for residents of four formerly isolated communities anchored by public housing to experience connection, belonging, agency and wellness in new mixed-income communities.

In this role, the new Cultural Resilience Program Director will build upon the pioneering creative placemaking, community sustainability and resilience efforts of partner organizations over the past several years. The person in this position will embody and demonstrate the value of integrating art, culture, and creativity strategies into projects with our partners. The Cultural Resilience Program Director will contribute to trauma-informed/healing practices and culture-shifting at many levels of the HOPE SF initiative, including providing technical assistance on cultural resiliency at the initiative-level and at the four sites. In this role, the person will carry out strategic actions that advance the vision of racial equity and inclusion of the HOPE SF initiative.

Locally, this position will report to the Senior Program Director for Public Housing at Enterprise, and support the City HOPE SF backbone team, The San Francisco Foundation, HOPE SF property operators, and TA providers (Trusted Space Partners). Within the Enterprise framework, the Cultural Resilience Program Director will also work in concert with the National Enterprise Cultural Resilience team.
