WANTED: Detroit Revitalization Fellows for 2017-2019 program

The Detroit Revitalization Fellows are talented mid-career leaders stimulating progress within Detroit’s civic, community and economic development landscape. This select group of doers engages in a rigorous two-year leadership development program while serving full-time at organizations working to further key programs and projects across Detroit and the region.

The Detroit Revitalization Fellows partners with organizations that have the capacity to provide a stable work environment for our Fellows. To successfully implement the Detroit Revitalization Fellows’ approach to building a systemic network of interdisciplinary leaders who serve as a model for driving equitable and inclusive progress across the region’s civic, community and economic development landscapes, our employers support their Fellow’s growth and development as leaders within their organization and the community.

The following questions are designed to assess how applicants align with the DRF mission. This application will be evaluated on the following four areas:

  • Your leadership experience and approach.
  • Your fit for the fellowship program.
  • Your level of self-awareness.
  • The overall quality of your submitted application.

The Detroit Revitalization Fellows (DRF) will launch its fourth cohort (2017-2019) on August 7, 2017. Applicants must complete and submit the application below no later than 11:59 p.m. on February 10, 2017. You will be notified on March 10, 2017 if you are selected to move forward as a semi-finalist. Semi-finalists will participate in a virtual interview between March 20th and 31st, please save these dates on your calendar.

A maximum of 150 applicants will advance to the semi-finalist phase and no more than 50 will become finalists. All finalists are required to attend an Interview Conference May 4th through 6th, 2017. Approximately 20 fellows will be selected from a competitive national pool. Fellows come from across the United States, and the program is especially interested in receiving applications from Detroiters already living in the city and those who have left the region and are ready to bring their talent home. The DRF staff will continuously narrow the applicant pool and select Fellows at their discretion.

The annual salary range for all positions is between $53,000 and $86,000, not including benefits.
