The Trenton (New Jersey) Downtown Association seeks an Executive Director capable of managing existing operations while seeking opportunities for new programs and initiatives that will strengthen the business environment, add to the attractiveness of the district for new business and visitors, for investment and new development.
Under the direction of a strong, engaged Board of Directors, the Executive Director will enhance the organization’s reputation, assets and effectiveness. In partnership with downtown stakeholders, the Executive Director will create and implement an annual comprehensive marketing plan and develop business improvement strategies with an emphasis on creating and maintaining a vibrant, exciting destination for local residents and visitors.
The Trenton Downtown Association manages Trenton’s Downtown Business Improvement District. It is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization created by ordinance of the City of Trenton for the purpose of promoting commerce, economic renewal and tourism in the district.
The district encompasses most of the City’s central business district, bounded on the East by the Trenton Transit Center, the west by Route 29. It encompasses the State House and South Warren Street historic districts and parts of the Mill Hill and Hanover-Academy historic districts. The district includes a wide variety of retail business, restaurants, government facilities, service businesses and residential properties, along with notable historic sites.
