WANTED: Executive Director for restoration and revitalization of historic building (Iowa)

The Bricker-Price Block project is a $2.1 million restoration to a historic building in downtown Earlham, Iowa. The building will be owned by a non-profit, the Bricker-Price Block Restoration Corporation (BPBRC), and will be home to a restaurant, a social club and a teen center.

BPBRC is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to expand educational, cultural and recreational opportunities for Iowans through the restoration and redevelopment of the historic Bricker-Price Block building in the heart of the rural community of Earlham. BPBRC seeks an Executive Director.

The BPBRC vision is a revitalized streetscape along the Bricker-Price Block which honors community history yet provides relevant 21st century educational, recreational, social, and cultural experiences. Upstairs, a modern social club provides opportunities for classes, culinary explorations, celebrations, and more.

The street level is home to a restaurant and an outdoor patio, which intentionally blurs the distinction between private business and a public street. A gathering space for high school teens occupies the west side addition, designed, operated, and governed by the teens and an adult champion.

The Executive Director is responsible for the creation and implementation of the BPBRC strategic work plan as well as the overall administrative and fiscal management of the non-profit organization. Along with the Board of Directors, the Executive Director serves as the voice and persona of the organization in communicating the vision, mission and activities to the broader community. The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors.

Start date: January 2, 2018
