WANTED: Executive Director for waterways restoration alliance (Kentucky)

Kentucky Waterways Alliance (KWA) is seeking a full-time Executive Director to lead us into our next phase of growth that will build upon over 20 years of successful work protecting and restoring the waterways of Kentucky.

The next Executive Director will work with the Board to develop strategy and a plan to achieve the organization’s goals; oversee programs that serve the KWA mission, including raising funds to support the program work; and supervise, select, and cultivate the KWA staff that implement the programs. The Executive Director is responsible for implementing the 2017-2020 Strategic Plan. He/she both supports and reports to the board of directors. The ideal candidate is a dynamic person with a track record of leadership, fundraising, nonprofit management, and policy advocacy. Salary commensurate with experience.

Founded in 1993, Kentucky Waterways Alliance, Inc. is a statewide non-profit organization. KWA’s mission is to protect, restore and celebrate Kentucky’s waterways. We accomplish our mission through education, community engagement, planning, and advocacy. KWA is the state affiliate partner of the National Wildlife Federation. The position will be based in KWA’s Louisville office. Operating Revenues: Currently $500,000 – $600,000 annually. New revenues needed for Strategic Plan are an additional $750,000 to $800,000 over 3 years. Current staffing level in Louisville office: 6 full-time staff.

This is a full-time, salaried position. Salary will be determined by qualifications and experience of candidate. A specific benefits package will be negotiated as a part of the overall compensation package in the Executive Director’s employment contract.
