WANTED: Head of regeneration and economic development (Scotland)

The Dumfries & Galloway Council (Scotland) seeks a Head of Economic Development Dumfries.

You will play a pivotal strategic role in regeneration, economic development and promotion of our considerable tourism, cultural and heritage based assets. You will work closely with senior officers and Elected Members to deliver the Council’s Priorities.

As chief officer you will drive and lead continuous improvement in functional areas including:

  • Regional Economic Strategy
  • Business and Enterprise
  • European Programmes and Funding
  • Employability and Skills
  • Tourism and
  • The Environment

You will empower and support employees and embrace a culture of strong performance management.

You should be educated to degree standard (or equivalent) and have a track record of success within a complex organisation where you have evidenced the ability to effectively communicate at a senior level, be able to deliver customer focused services, negotiate effectively, manage budgets and design/deliver policies which improve organisational efficiency.

You will be joining a Council that is ambitious and forward thinking. We offer a career opportunity that is demanding and very rewarding.

The salary range is £69,920 – £73,525.
A significant relocation package is available.
