WANTED: Project coordinator for Appalachian coal community revitalization program (DC)

The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) seeks a highly organized and detail-orientated project coordinator for their office in Washington, DC to facilitate the many moving parts of the POWER (Partnerships for Opportunity and Workforce and Economic Revitalization) initiative.

The POWER program is part of a congressionally funded initiative supporting efforts to create a more vibrant economic future for Appalachia’s coal-impacted communities.

This role will coordinate all logistics such as facilitating community outreach, coordinating content for RFPs, facilitating internal communication within the agency, and working directly with potential grantees. This position will work collaboratively with the ARC team, the thirteen ARC states that comprise the Appalachian region, LDDs (Local Development Districts), and other public agencies at the federal, state and local level as well as community partners, groups and grantees.

The successful candidate will have superb communication skills, possess strong organizational skills, and be resourceful and proactive. Travel in and within the Appalachian Region is necessary to carry out the function of the position.
