WANTED: Senior Manager, Neighborhood Revitalization (Georgia)

The Atlanta (Georgia) Housing Authority (AHA) seeks a Senior Manager, Neighborhood Revitalization.

The Senior Manager, Neighborhood Revitalization, works in partnership with the City of Atlanta and Invest Atlanta on the planning and implementation of neighborhood stabilization and development initiatives including transportation, infrastructure and streetscape improvements, green-space; housing, commercial, and economic development programs and projects.

Activities include but are not limited to land acquisition, demolition of blighted properties, owner-occupied rehab, mixed-use and mixed-income development (rental and for-sale housing, commercial development, civic, and recreational facilities, and green-space). Implement the Neighborhood Plan related to the Choice Neighborhoods Transformation Plan and may also manage such work in areas where the Atlanta Housing Authority (AHA) is advancing revitalization initiatives. Develop, facilitate, engage and manage strategic partnerships, stakeholders, community organizations and community residents related to neighborhood development. Develop and implement systems and procedures for project management and program administration; provide reporting as required; evaluate the effectiveness of neighborhood development programs. Perform special projects as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, urban planning, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred. 8 years of progressively responsible and similar work experience. Experience preferred in federally funded neighborhood stabilization and/or development programs such as HOPE VI, Choice Neighborhoods or American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (AARA).
