WANTED: Stewardship Manager for riverfront revitalization non-profit (PA)

The Delaware River City Corporation (DRCC) has an exciting opportunity for a bright and enthusiastic individual to be its Stewardship Manager.

DRCC is a nonprofit organization leading the revitalization of the tidal Delaware River in Philadelphia, working with the City of Philadelphia and other private and public organizations to build trails and trailhead parks.

The mission of the Delaware River City Corporation is to revitalize a sustainable riverfront corridor in northeast Philadelphia by reconnecting the people, places, businesses, and neighborhoods of Philadelphia and the surrounding region to the Delaware River while simultaneously promoting a diversity of uses through implementation of the North Delaware Riverfront Greenway Plan.

The Stewardship Manager is responsible for managing the built environment of the North Delaware Riverfront Greenway.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Working with large groups of diverse backgrounds in education and resource management settings.
  • Hands-on plant identification, small tool/equipment operation and ecological restoration activity exposure.
  • Managing and working with remnant, new native and transitional landscaping.
  • Ability to work outdoors under adverse weather conditions.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with herbicides.
  • Enthusiasm, strong work ethic, courteous and positive attitude, team player mentality.
  • Experience Managing volunteer groups.
  • Bachelor’s degree and one to three years field experience, or equivalent experience in related field, is required. Horticulture of Landscape Architecture degree preferred.

Compensation: $17.50/hour + health benefits
