Adelaide is the capital city of the state of South Australia, and the fifth-most populous city of Australia, with a population of about 1,326,000. South Australia, with a total of 1.7 million inhabitants, has the most centralized population of any state in Australia, with more than 75 percent of its people living in the greater Adelaide metropolitan area.
In May of 2017, major construction work commenced on what will become one of Adelaide’s most significant and largest urban regeneration projects. It’s in the West End part of Adelaide’s Central Business District (CBD) – West Franklin.

Earlier this year, in February, the firm Built Environs was awarded the contract to build Stage One in West Franklin, on behalf of the developer, Greaton. Over 2,000 full time and part time construction jobs will be generated during Stage One, which is expected to take over two years to complete, with over seventy subcontracting firms employed.

We have deliberately pitched the West Franklin apartments in the affordable luxury market to appeal to a broad cross section of purchasers. Over 70 per cent of stage one is already sold.”
He added, “Local Adelaide architects Brown Falconer were chosen to lead the exterior design and interior fit-out. They have created a distinctive urban village that has been designed to meld with the historic fabric of the site, designed for the 21st century. We are creating a new affordable urban lifestyle in West End that has never been seen before. West Franklin is expected to become an iconic lifestyle destination that the West End community will be very proud to call home.”
The first stage of West Franklin is located on the corner of Elizabeth and Franklin Streets and features 272 residential apartments spread across two towers (north tower is 20 storeys and the south tower is 18 storeys). They both share a common podium comprising 1,100 sqm of retail on the ground level, resident facilities and car parking (236 spaces). Residential facilities include a 20 metre lap pool, gym, spa, sauna, resident dining rooms, BBQ facilities, cinema, golf simulator and roof top bar.
The West Franklin development will create an entirely new destination within Adelaide’s City West. Situated on the corner of Franklin, Elizabeth and Morphett Streets, the lifestyle precinct represents the future of living in Adelaide and comprises 560 luxurious apartments and penthouses spread across four iconic towers. Stage one is due to be completed early 2019.
