As Habitat for Humanity works to revitalize the B Street area, Michael Pennink will lead the efforts.
Nonprofit work is new to Pennink, who has spent the past six years practicing tax law in his firm.
“The practice of law was a great thing, but I wanted a change of pace,” said Pennick, 32.
Then the opportunity to lead Habitat’s revitalization came along, sparking the interest of the former volunteer.
The jump from law has been a good change, he said, but his background is helpful in many ways.
And Pennink’s been around efforts to improve the community, including those of his father, Dr. Menno Pennink, who he said he grew up watching “desperately and tirelessly try to revitalize downtown Fayetteville.”
