A new tax incentive program offered by the city of La Crosse is revitalizing neighborhoods one house at a time.
The program, called the TIF 14 Initiative is a result of the development of the Gundersen Health System campus.
The city says future tax revenue generated by the development is then reinvested into surrounding neighborhoods in the form of new homes.
“We’re trying to stabilize the neighborhood and bring more families here so they can take pride in their property and help revitalize the neighborhood,” Caroline Nielson, community development administrator, said.
