VIDEO: Arlington, Virginia transforms a flood retention pond into an ecologically restored wetland park for people and wildlife

Here’s a project that’s near and dear to my (Storm Cunningham) heart, as it has been taking place just a mile or so from my house in Arlington County, Virginia.

Formerly a nondescript flood retention hole in the ground called Ballston Pond, this ecologically restored wetland will slow down and filter stormwater runoff.

In addition, Ballston Wetland Park is now a recreational destination for adults and children alike.
