VIDEO: In Qatar, the Karaana Lagoon has been ecologically restored from toxic industrial dump site to vibrant wildlife refuge

For 10 years, the Karaana Lagoon in Qatar was a dumping ground for industrial wastewater which formed a contaminated layer of sludge in some areas and increased pollutants in the environment.

Today, thanks to the November 16, 2019 completion reclamation and rehabilitation work in the Karaana Lagoon by Ashghal (the Public Works Authority), the area has been transformed from a toxic dump into a healthy natural environment and home to wildlife.
